Building Healthy Futures Omaha

March 22, 2016 by Kent Templien

Business Challenge

Building Healthy Futures (BHF) recognized a need for a way to enter, retrieve, update, and report on oral health services delivered to students in a local school district. BHF works with four major health systems in Douglas County to provide oral health services and dental care coordination. Demographic and clinical data must be kept separate and secure by care provider, but it must also be available to report in aggregate across providers. Until now, BHF and the providers used an array of manual processes to record and track the information.

Solution

The X-eqt team met with Building Healthy Futures’ clinicians, care coordinators, dentists, and analytics consultants to fully understand the client’s vision and requirements for an oral health screening tracking system.  X-eqt developed a web-based solution that can be used on a laptop or tablet at the time services are provided. Access to the system is controlled by BHF through administrative functions, and provider administrators control access to the system for their organization. School and student demographic information can be uploaded in bulk or individually entered. Student and care data carries over from year to year.

Results

Using one provider as a beta test, BHF provided over 9,700 oral health screenings to students 11 years old and younger during the first school year. They followed 300 children for care coordination.  The ability to update data in real time was a significant time saving for BHF, allowing them to serve more children. BHF reported that midyear reporting which used to take days to compile and complete was done in minutes.

About Building Healthy Futures

Building Healthy Futures is a nonprofit that aims to improve health for the community’s underserved children and youth through thoughtful collaboration and advocacy. To that end, Building Healthy Future’s role in the community has been to bridge the institutions of health and education – the two institutions with the largest impact on child well-being. BHF works to improve health outcomes by 1) building capacity within their provider community to meet the diverse health needs of vulnerable populations, 2) engaging school districts and health systems to re-think “business as usual” to help ensure all children thrive, and 3) guiding common measurements and evaluation to ensure goals for Community Health Improvement Plans are met.

Taylor and Martin, Inc.

June 5, 2015 by xeqtteam

Business Challenge

Taylor and Martin (T&M) provides auction services in the heavy equipment industry. The T&M associates many times will be in the field to gather information on the auction items. They had a challenge assuring they had all the equipment information and it was accurate. The day of the auction they need an efficient way, in the field, to verify the equipment specification and check in.

Solution

The X-eqt team built the Equipment system utilizing T&M’s existing IBM I-series core system database DB2. The system will run on portable devices such as T&M’s standard iPads and iPhones as well as desktops utilizing a browser client. The process is guided with automated workflow tools ensuring all the information is collected and verified before the item is sold. Geo-locating capability has been identified for the next phase of this system.

Results

The system is in a pilot release with very positive feedback. The system scope has intentionally increased to include deployment into other departments within the company.

Wenger

June 5, 2015 by xeqtteam

Wenger offers a range of premium single-screw extruders, twin-screw extruders, dryers/coolers, flavor coating and enrobing systems, and control systems. A new generation of proud employees works toward customer satisfaction daily in multiple plants, in world-class research and development center, and in sales and service offices around the globe.

Wenger equipment is unmatched in quality. Perhaps even more importantly, they have built a reputation for having lasting partnerships with customers. Lasting because of dedication, ingenuity, and responsiveness – and the promise to carry out that commitment for generations to come.

Business Challenge

Wenger had data in older, legacy Customer Relationship Management systems that they wanted to import into Microsoft Dynamics CRM. There were also system infrastructure issues that prevented access to the CRM environment and changes to the data model that were required to support established business processes. Data mapping had not been defined to ensure the data was brought into CRM correctly and completely. The Wenger Information Technology team had several projects on their agenda which precluded them from dedicating resources to the MSCRM deployment project.

Solution

Working as part of the Wenger CRM team, The X-eqt team reviewed the client’s vision, environment, and timeline and provided suggestions and system changes to better support the client’s vision and timeline. Through the use of data import tools, the X-eqt team helped to import Parent and Child Accounts, Contacts, and Quote and Opportunity data from their current systems into MSCRM. After the data was loaded and verified, X-eqt worked with Wenger to further streamline their Quoting process and enabled SharePoint integration for the storage of documents related to Quotes and supporting documentation.

Results

Multiple data loads were performed to allow Wenger to test and clean up old data. A final data load was completed after approval from the Wenger team. They are now using Microsoft Dynamics CRM for management of this data and process and are planning a phase 2 implementation.
